Well, the wait is over. Season 2 of I Love New York is underway. This season we met a great number of contestants including Midget Mac, Pretty, Unsure, Ears, and Mr. Suave himself Tailor Made. Tailor Made made his appearance on the show as one of Sister Patterson's own personal choice, also known as the, "Mamas Boys".
In the season premiere, we saw five guys get the boot. We also had the priveledge of welcoming back Sister Patterson. Is it just us, or is Sister Patter getting better looking each time we see her? The first episode was everything we wanted, plus more.
In on of his first scenes Tailor Made made known his wealth by buying the time from the other contestants for some alone time with Ms. New York. We couldn't help but wonder if there was more to Mr. Tailor. Could it be that Tailor Made is really trying to buy New York's love with money? We here at De Novo Magazine had to find out.
In an open letter to De Novo Magazine, Tailor Made comes clean about life in the house with Ms. New York and the other guys.
Moreno: Tailor, tell me what you see in New York?
Tailor Made: I have been attracted to New York since I first saw her on Flavor of Love. She has all the qualities I look for in a woman. She's sexy, sassy, independent minded and is not afraid to speak her mind. I know this might sound a bit cliche but I feel that it was fate that I ended up on the show.
Moreno: How did you end up auditioning for the show?
Tailor Made: live in New York and read The Times, exclusively. One day I went to the news stand to pick up a copy and they were sold out. So I reluctantly bought The Post. I generally refuse to buy the Post because of their conservative agenda (even though I love Page Six). Anyway, I'm flipping through the paper and I see an article about an open casting call for I Love New York 2. I decided to go . . . and two months later I was in New York's house competing for her heart.
Moreno: You clearly displayed your wealth on the show, what type of work are you in?
Tailor Made: Unlike a lot of the other guys I have never been on a reality show or had a career in entertainment. I have worked in the fashion industry in a variety of roles for ten plus years. I am currently employed as a Retail Planner for a prominent designer in New York.
Moreno: What was it like meeting New York for the first time?
Tailor Made: The two motto's I live by are "A lifestyle is a terrible thing to waste" and "work hard but play harder". The first time I met New York in person I was actually a little intimidated at how beautiful she was. She's gorgeous on television but in person she's flawless.
Moreno: Why the need to win New York over with your money?
Tailor Made: So yes, at the mixer, I may have been a little ostentatious in how I flaunted my wealth. I just felt I needed to differentiate myself from the other men. They were screaming and doing anything they could to "push up" on New York. I decided to handle the situation by paying a couple of the guys to get some time alone with her. Unfortunately, I wound up looking like a jerk. Thankfully New York gave me a chance and let me stay in the house another night.
Moreno: What did you make of the other contestants?
Tailor Made: I didn't try to befriend the other guys. I think I may have came across as stand-offish, but I really don't care. I didn't go out there to make nineteen guy friends. I went on the show to attempt to win one girl's heart.
Moreno: Were there any scenes on the premiere that didn't make it on TV?
Tailor Made: The one scene that was cut out of the premiere that I wish remained was the lengthly conversation I had with Sister Patterson. We discussed everything from politics to tennis.
Moreno: So, what did you make of Sister Patterson?
Tailor Made: She is a very nice lady.
Thank you Tailor Made for your time. We look forward to seeing more of you on this season's I love New York.
