I LOVE NEW YORK'S TOKEN
TELLS IT LIKE IT IS

I actually talked to Tango before
the reunion show.  From what I
understand, it was a last minute
decision to call of the relationship.
But I actually thought it was
funny as hell.

EBONY MORGAN: AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL
By:
Jeremy Van Cise
Posted: December 2007

With one of America’s Next Top Model’s most
infamous departures under her belt, Ebony
Morgan took a few minutes to answer some of
our questions about her decision to leave and
dish on what it was like being in the Top Model
    house.

Van Cise: First and foremost I want to thank
you, Ebony, for taking the time to answer
these questions for us. So lets start at the
    beginning.

Morgan: No problem, thanks for having me.

Van Cise: When did you realize that you
wanted to pursue a career in modeling?

Morgan: I realized in high school that I wanted to model, so around 14 or 15.

Van Cise: How did you go about being cast in cycle 9 of America’s Next Top Model?

Morgan: My father told me that castings were going to be held here in Chicago, so I went
down and was picked. It was a very exciting moment. It's also a very long process you have
to go through to get on the show..

Van Cise: What was your favorite photo shoot ?

Morgan: My favorite photo shoot would probably be the shoot in the forest when I was the
Bird of paradise, the make-up was so dramatic and creative, I loved it

Van Cise: Why did you wait so long to let Tyra know that you didn’t want to stay in
the house?

Morgan: A lot of people think the decision I made was a spur of the moment type of thing.
That's something I wanted to do (leave) since the second week I was in the house. I spoke to
Lisa about it and she told me I shouldn't do it. The only reason I stayed so long is because I
was afraid of what people may have said or thought if I left. I was worried about what my
family would say mostly, I thought they may be disappointed in the decision. As time went on,
I decided to stay true and real to myself and do what was right for Ebony, not worrying about
other people. I then waited to the end opposed to not showing up to panel at all, or telling
Tyra at my individual evaluation, because she could have not called my name, I didn't want
to make this big scene for nothing.

Van Cise: What did you think of Tyra’s decision to show your audition tape after
your departure? Do you hold any resentment towards Tyra?

Morgan: I was actually happy they showed my audition tape because it showed my
personality and how I really am- happy, bubbly and silly. No I don't hold any resentment
toward Tyra.

Van Cise: What have you been up to after the show and where do you see yourself
going?

Morgan: Well I'm in Nursing school right now, pretty soon though I’ll be moving to LA to
pursue modeling and party like a rock star, lol.

Van Cise: who was the girl you got the closest to? Was there anyone you didn’t get
along with?

Morgan: I was probably closer to Lisa. To this day, we talk everyday. No there wasn't anyone
I disliked or didn't get along with in the house, they were all great. I feel lucky to have been
with this group of ladies.

Van Cise: Who do you think should be crowned America’s Next Top Model?

Morgan: I don't wish anyone to win more than the other. They all have immense potential and
are all awesome. I wish them all well in any future endeavors they may have.

Van Cise: How has being on the show impacted your life?

Morgan: From being on the show I learned so much. I learned that family is so important. Not
being able to talk to my family but once a week, and sometimes not even that, is something, I
learned, I can't deal with. Here I am in a $15 million mansion, in the Hollywood Hills,
surrounded by the most lavish things and all I could think about was my family, wondering
what they were doing and whether they missed me, because I certainly missed them. I swear
I would rather live in a hut in a forest with my family, opposed to in a mansion without them,
not being able to speak or be with them.

Van Cise: Do you have any regrets coming out of the show?

Morgan: I regret not being myself all the way through the show. I also regret not speaking up
when I should have.

Thank you Ebony for your time.
